Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- The U.S. government is trying to rebuild the nation’s cattle herd in order to strengthen domestic beef production and support American ranchers.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Ranchers First Initiative builds on its 2025 plan to fortify the beef industry. This as the cattle herd sits at a 75-year low, according to the Trump administration. The new measures are reportedly meant to help ranchers keep breeding animals, recover from natural disasters, expand local meat processing and build up the agricultural supply chain.
