Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Teutopolis Unit 50 school board members continued long-term facility discussions at Monday’s meeting, with attention on the potential renovation of Teutopolis Grade School. The board reviewed prior planning work, the district’s “Facilities: A Clear View” website, three conceptual facility options, estimated costs, and borrowing scenarios. Members also reviewed a draft bond referendum question and a draft bond referendum resolution, but took no action to place a referendum on the November ballot. Instead, the superintendent was directed to make both draft documents available for public review.
The board may consider formal action at its August 10 meeting after more community feedback. Residents can contact Superintendent Matt Sturgeon or email unit50board@ttown.k12.il.us.
In personnel action, the board approved a leave request for Tara Niemerg and several 2026-27 extracurricular hires, including:
- Kevin McKenna as THS eSports Sponsor
- Jon Lee as THS Girls Tennis Coach
- Kathy Lee as THS Girls Tennis Volunteer
