Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- Hyundai is recalling over 47-thousand Kona SUVs for a defect with the rear center seat belt.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall covers nearly 48-thousand vehicles, including certain 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric and 2026 Hyundai Kona model. The automaker said the rear center seat belt buckle may fail to properly restrain a passenger during a crash. Hyundai is advising owners not to use the rear center seating position until its repaired. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 11th and dealers will replace the rear center seat buckle assembly free of charge.
