Louisville, IL-(Effingham Radio)- North Clay school board members took action on several major items during Wednesday’s meeting at the district office in Louisville. The board unanimously approved a new three-year agreement with the North Clay Education Association. The contract includes salary increases of six percent in each of the first two years, and five percent in the third year, along with additional personal and sick leave, higher insurance contributions, increased tuition reimbursement, and an expanded retirement incentive.
A revised high school cell phone policy was also approved on a five-to-two vote. Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, phones will not be allowed in classrooms, except for documented needs tied to a 504 plan, IEP, medical necessity, or translation support.
The board also heard construction updates, approved the athletic handbook, discussed possible track facility improvements, and approved several personnel changes after closed session.
