Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Expect periodic showers and thunderstorms, but dry weather will be more common this afternoon and evening, especially north of I-72.
A front will lift back northward on Thursday and bring the chance for strong to severe thunderstorms. Isolated damaging wind gusts will be the main concern, though a tornado or two cannot be ruled out in east central and southeast Illinois.
Once this storm system finally pushes out Thursday night, the end of the week will see much cooler weather, with our first chance of frost Friday night.
