Altamont Takes Care Of Business Against Central A & M 60-33

Altamont traveled to Moweaqua on Tuesday to face the Raiders of Central A & M. It was the Indians who returned home with another victory 60-33 over A & M.

Both teams were slow out of the gates as it took a couple minutes for either team to score. Finally Eric Kollmann, who was re inserted into the starting lineup scored the first couple of baskets to get Altamont out to the 4-0 lead.  Indians would finally find their shooting touch as Logan Cornett and Mason Robinson would hit threes forcing A & M to call a couple of early time outs.  Altamont would double up the Raiders after one 18-6.

In the second quarter Altamont continued to look for Kollmann. As he would pour in 10 first half points. Avery Jahraus would get it going as well.  He had a three and seven points in the quarter as well. Central A & M were able to force some turnovers capitalizing on some “soft” Altamont passes. Gavin Houchins made two from beyond the arc to get something going for A & M. Those threes would be the only points in the quarter for A & M as Altamont held the 34-12 at the half.

Altamont then put the game out of reach in the third.  Jahraus would make three from beyond the arc to pour in 11 for the quarter. Robinson would also add eight in the quarter, to combine for nearly all the Altamont offense in the quarter. Indians scored 21 in the quarter while holding A & M to another single digit quarter.

With the running clock both teams would unload the bench. The Raiders would have their best quarter of the game as four different players found the scorers column and have 18 total. Those points got the margin of victory under 30. Altamont goes on to win 60-33.

Altamont improves to 14-3 on the season and the winning streak stands at 9. Indians next game is a big one in the NTC. Two of the seasons best NTC teams squaring off on Friday vs 12-4 North Clay.

Central A & M falls to 2-11 on the season and will face Warrensburg Latham on Friday.
