The Altamont Indians started off the last week of 2022 on the right foot with a 80-21 win over Century in round one of the Sesser Valier Holiday Tournament.
Indians started the game off with a balanced scoring attack points coming from seven different players. Altamont got off to a hot shooting start and took advantage of seven opening quarter turnovers from Century. Altamont had the lead 28-7 after one quarter.
Indians continued to score the basketball even better than the quarter before. Dillon Elam would make three from beyond the arc and finish with 11 in the quarter. Altamont continued to force turnovers as well, make it nine turnovers in the quarter for Century. Indians would have an even better second quarter putting up 31. Altamont would also hold the Centurions to just two points in the quarter. Altamont took the 59-9 lead into the locker room.
In the second half Altamont were able to play everyone that dressed in a total team effort. Altamont would go on to win 80-21.
Altamont improves to 7-3 on the season and will take on in the second round the 7 seed Johnson City who defeated Waltonville 75-627.
