Cumberland Falls To Windsor 58-54

Cumberland led at the end of three quarters but not the last one as they fell to Windsor Stew-Stras 58-54.

Cumberland took the lead at the end of the first quarter, when Maddox McElravy was fouled while attempting a three pointer at the buzzer. McElravy would hit all three free throws to give Cumberland a 17-15 lead after the first quarter. After a back and forth first quarter that featured 6 lead changes and 2 ties, Cumberland would lead the entire second quarter as they outscored Windsor 13-10, to lead 30-25 at the half.

The Pirates would continue to lead thru the third quarter, but Windsor would make a run to get back into it as they outscored Cumberland 13-10 in the third quarter, however Cumberland would still lead 40-38.

Windsor would take their first lead since the first quarter at the start of the fourth quarter, as the two teams would trade the lead 6 times in the final quarter before Windsor went up 48-46 and they never trailed again.

Cumberland falls to 3-5 on the season and they will take on St. Elmo/Brownstown for Third Place at the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament at 6 PM on Saturday. That game can be heard on WCRA. Windsor Stew-Stras is now 8-2 on the year and will face Hillsboro for the Tournament Championship at 7:30 on Saturday.
