Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- While the pleasant temperatures will continue today, a warming trend begins this weekend, and the heat returns for early next week. The best chances for rain will be tonight, when scattered showers and storms are expected after midnight. Monday also has potential, but the better rain chances appear to be further north at this time.
Hot weather returns early next week, as high temperatures reach the lower to mid 90s Sunday through Tuesday. Heat index values are likely to top out from 100-110 degrees each afternoon, only dropping off into the mid 70s overnight. While the worst conditions appear to be on Monday, nearby thunderstorm potential introduces some uncertainty at this time.
