Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Canada wildfires continue to impact air quality over Illinois to start the week.
The Air Quality Index was at a hazardous level yesterday across much of the state. That is likely to linger throughout today with heat playing a factor, too. Tomorrow, storms are expected to break up particulates in the air, providing some air quality relief.
The National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Alert for most of the area until midnight.
