Effingham Unit 40 School District also reported a strong financial position, with all funds balance rising by over 12% and operating funds up nearly 9%. The fiscal year ended just $263,000 below last year’s mark, keeping the district close to a balanced budget.
In student support news, the Unit 40 Foundation awarded more than $1 million in scholarships. Thirty-eight Effingham High School students were recognized at the Society for Academic Achievement banquet. The Board approved summer school partnerships with the Park District and authorized up to $75,000 for new iPads at the Early Learning Center.
