
Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Teutopolis was held in the Village Hall on Wednesday at 7pm.
Tony Esker discussed the newly passed Illinois Stretch Building Codes. He said he will contact their attorney for more information on this.
Village foreman Carl Pals updated the board about the water plant that was struck by lightning a few weeks ago. He reported that the plant is now operational. Additionally, he informed the board about the costs of repairing the tornado siren near the junior high, the sinkholes appearing throughout the village, and the catch basins along Main Street.
The board also approved the purchase of a tiller for $1,300 from Performance Lawn and Power. Chief Bushue also reported that his department is running smoothly.
The FY2025 appropriations will be sent to Village Attorney Tracy Willenborg to have the Ordinance ready for the June 19th meeting.
The Board also said Milano and Grunloh will be contacted to finalize the 2024 MFT road oiling. They then discussed the upcoming projects with Milano and Grunloh. They are going to hold off on the Box Culvert Replacement and Plot Twist sidewalk.
The Board also approve the RFQ for the Pearl Street Reconstruction Project, approve an Employee Bereavement Policy, and hired Serena Buzzard as a part-time clerk assistant.
