Altamont Moves On To The Semi Finals Of The NTC Tournament With 67-55 Win Over Neoga

In the first round of the 87th NTC Basketball Tournament began with a battle of the Indians. As it was the higher seeded team who came out with the win. Altamont is on to the next round after handing Neoga a 67-55 loss, as the defending champs advance to the semi finals

The game started off back and fourth as Trey Sheehan and Keinon Eirhart traded baskets. Many ties and lead changes occurred until mid way thru the opening quarter.  With Altamont holding on to a 10-9 lead, Altamont would go on a 7-0 run to break the game open.  Kaidyn Miller was a big factor down in the post area, taking advantage of some offensive rebounding opportunities. Altamont would take the lead 21-10 after one.

Neoga would come back to start the second quarter as the senior duo of Brady Reynolds and Quintin Richards had seven and six points apiece. Neoga would cut the deficit  to  single digits,  31-24 at halftime.

In the third quarter Altamont would find their footing again and regain control of the game. Eric Kollmann would take over with eight points in the quarter.  Reynolds not to be out done poured in 12 points in the quarter to try and keep Neoga in it. Despite Reynolds efforts the lead would be back to ten by quarters end 51-41.

Richards would also come up big in the scoring column in the second half as well as he poured in 11 in the half.  Altamont three point shooting was off all night, Avery Jaharus was able to knock one down in the fourth however. But the story of the night was the post man combo of Kollmann and Miller. As they combined for 18 points in the second half to lead Altamont to the 67-55 win.

Altamont improves to 17-3 on the season and advances to Thursday semi finals contest against the 5 seed Dieterich. The Maroons were victorious over W/SS  60-46 later in the night.

Neoga falls to 7-15 on the season and falls into the consolation side of the tournament and will take on W/SS on Thursday as well.
