For the second time this season Altamont and Dieterich matched up on the Movin Maroons home floor, this time around it had slightly more stakes than the pervious one. Even though the games looked different it came out with the same result an Altamont win.
It was a much different start than last time around. Both teams took a couple of minutes to get on the board but when they did it was Altamont that got the advantage. Due to the offensive rebounding, the Indians would hold a 11-3 rebound advantage. The rebounding combined with a Tyler Robbins three and a couple of field goals by Mason Robinson had Altamont on top after one 10-6.
Altamont would take control in the second quarter by taking advantage of 7 Dieterich turnovers. Avery Jahraus and Robinson would hit from deep. Altamont ended the quarter on a run finished off by a steal and layup by Logan Cornett and another three from Robinson to lead at the half 29-17.
The Maroons would never go away and made some noise in the third. Pete Britton finally hitting from deep and Bryce Budde would catch fire, scoring 9 in the quarter including a couple from deep. Jahraus would be fouled shooting a three and hit 2 of 3 from line to close out the third quarter with the Indians leading 40-33.
But unfortunately for Dieterich they would not have a lot going on in the final quarter, going scoreless from the field. Altamont would outscore the Maroons 11-4 to close it out and go on to win 51-37.
Altamont improves to 26-6 overall on the season and advances to take on South Central for the regional championship on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
Dieterich ends the season 18-11.
