On Tuesday night Altamont picked up their second win in as many days at the 40th Annual Sesser Valier Holiday Tournament with a 60-31 win over the Meteors of Marissa Coulterville.
Altamont used the winning formula of making high percentage shots and great defense to get off to another quick start. Mason Robinson, just like yesterday, had a great opening quarter with nine points. The Indians would start starting 7 for 12 from the field. While on the other side Marissa couldn’t get the lid off the basketball, going just 3 for 8 from the field. Altamont would have the lead 16-7 after one.
Altamont would continue pour it on in the second quarter finishing at a 56% shooting percentage at halftime. While the shooting struggles would continue for the Meteors, as they would finish 5 for 20 from the field. Indians would extend their lead 31-12 at the half.
Altamont would come out of the locker room on a 7-0 run to start the third quarter and would have big quarters from Eric Kollmann and Will Schultz. Both scoring 6 and 5 points respectively. Marissa would have its best quarter after righting the ship a little bit. Garett Harrell would have good middle quarters, as he would score eight points to try and keep the score respectable. But in the end Altamont was just too much.
Altamont would eventually get the the running clock going in the final period and the second unit would cruise to the 60-31 victory.
Altamont improves 8-3 on the season and advances to the semi finals for a showdown with host Sesser Valier Wednesday night at 8:00 P.M.
