EFFINGHAM, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Earlier Today, first responders were called to 707 South Oak Street in Effingham at 12:25 p.m.
Soon after they arrived they found the detached garage, about 30 feet away from the home, on fire with heavy smoke.
In a brief interview with Effingham Fire Chief, Joe Holomy, he stated the cause of the fire came from a previous brush fire nearby.
Holomy added the left over embers were blown into the side of the garage, and due to the strong wind gusts managed to catch fire.
As of right now there is no confirmed fiscal loss as the incident is still under investigation.
There were no reported injuries at the time of the incident.
