On May 6, 2024, at approximately 8:21 a.m., the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary in progress at a property in Xenia Township. Upon the arrival of deputies the subject fled from the property. Deputies were able to develop a suspect during their initial investigation.
At approximately 1:48 p.m. the sheriff’s office received information on a possible location of the suspect. Deputies responded to the location along with the Xenia Police Department and were able to take the suspect into custody without incident.
As a result of the incident Christopher S. Brown, 42, of Xenia, was arrested for the offenses of Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools. Brown was currently on Pretrial Release pursuant to the “Safety Act” in Clay County Case 2023-CF115. Brown is currently incarcerated in the Clay Count Jail awaiting his first appearance in court.
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty
