Dieterich, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Dieterich Village Board held their regular meeting Monday and discussed a variety of topics.
The meeting started with discussions centered around bids received for Section Street storm sewer work. Clerk Brittny Gipson stated that the lowest bidder for the work has a history of cutting corners, and one of their last jobs was reported to have many OSHA violations, which resulted in multiple fines. The Board agreed to look at the second lowest bidder and will revisit when more research is done.
Also discussed was a Community Grant that was received from the federal level, the first “true” federal grant the Village has received. It is in the amount of $1M. The Board also approved a raise in price for use of the park pavilion and stage to $100 each, and will look into getting access to electricity closer to the stage.
The Board also:
- Authorized Purchase of Easement for Storm Sewer Purposes
- Authorizing the Sale of Personal Property (1997 Dodge MB 350 Pickup and Trailer)
- Adopted the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) Procurement Policy for Using CDBG Funds by the Village of Dieterich, Illinois (E. Section Street Storm Sewer Project)
- Granted approval a Temporary Liquor License for the Dieterich 4th of July Celebration to be held at Liberty Park
Board member Lee Beckman was absent from Monday’s meeting.
