Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- We have a good chance for severe weather the next couple days.
Thunderstorm development is expected early this afternoon, some of which could become severe. There is a slight risk of severe weather (level 2 of 5), but the risk increases to enhanced across Indiana (level 3 of 5). The primary concern is large hail and damaging winds, but isolated tornadoes are also possible. Storms will move off quickly to the northeast, and the local threat should diminish by about 6 PM.
Another round of severe storms looks to target the area Wednesday afternoon to early evening.
Highest chances of severe weather is over southern IL, where damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes are all possible.
