Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Study Shoppe has joined the Effingham County Chamber and is creating a space where local students can feel supported, encouraged, and connected outside the classroom.
Founded in 2017 by Tammy Meinhart, The Study Shoppe is a Christian, not-for-profit organization offering a free after-school program for students in grades 6-12 throughout the Effingham area. Alongside Nancy Marshewski, the organization provides free homework help, encouragement, mentorship, and a welcoming environment for local middle and high school students.
Located at 800 S. Henrietta Street in Effingham, The Study Shoppe creates opportunities for students to grow academically, socially, and personally through a supportive atmosphere centered around faith, encouragement, and community connection.
As a nonprofit organization, The Study Shoppe also accepts donations to help continue serving local students and families throughout the community. Community support helps provide resources, supplies, and programming that allow the organization to remain free of charge for participating students.
“We’re excited to welcome The Study Shoppe to the Chamber,” said Katie Koester, President & CEO of the Effingham County Chamber. “Programs like this provide meaningful support for local students and families while creating positive opportunities for youth throughout our community.”
The Chamber’s Pay It Forward Membership program allows Chamber Capital Investors to sponsor memberships for local non-profits and organizations, making a difference within the community. Through the support of the First National Bank of Waterloo, The Study Shoppe is now able to connect with additional resources, networking opportunities, and partnerships through Chamber membership.
Community members can learn more about The Study Shoppe, donate, or get involved by visiting StudyShoppe.org, following the organization on Facebook at @TheStudyShoppe, calling (217) 994-3682, or stopping by their Effingham location.
