The United Way Board of Directors is sending their thanks to Dr. Ryan and Sara Jennings. The Jennings recently held a party in their home in efforts to raise money for the United Way of Effingham County. The 10th annual party was held on September 2nd. Over $14,000 was raised for the United Way of Effingham County. The Board of Directors is also sending their thanks to Jeff Frey, Tim Crippen, Sagan Calkins, Chad Arnold, Jack Jennings, Jon Stremming, Buffalo Wild Wings in Effingham, and the numerous neighbors in the Grupe Subdivision and surrounding subdivisions.
Ninety nine percent of funds raised for the United Way of Effingham County stay local. The United Way of Effingham County funds 23 local partners. They are: Big Brothers Big Sisters Mid Illinois- Effingham County, Blessings in a Backpack, Boy Scouts of America- Lincoln Trails Council, Catholic Charities, CASA (Court Appointed Speical Advocate) of Effingham County, CEFS Golden Circle Nutrition Program, CEFS Literacy Program, CEFS (RSVP) Retired SR Volunteer Program, Child Advocacy Center of E. Central Illinois, Effingham County Search & Rescue, Effingham County FISH Human Services, Effingham Child Development Center, Effingham County Youth Commission, Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, Heartland Human Services, National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) of Effingham County, One Hope United, Sexual Assault and Family Emergencies (SAFE), Oneighty, Strategic Training & Restoration (STAR), Senior Services of Effingham County, Stopping Women Abuse Now (SWAN), and the Unit 40 Mentoring Program.
