Kankakee County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Damage is being reported in Kankakee County after severe weather hit the region last night. The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office says at least one confirmed tornado touched down south of Kankakee, near the Kankakee Fairgrounds.
The tornado eventually crossed the Kankakee River into Aroma Park, where extensive damage has been reported. The Sheriff’s Office is urging area residents to limit travel as much as possible due to trees and other debris that have fallen on our roadways, as well as downed power lines.
This was one of many tornadoes reported throughout the region last night as part of the same line of storms.
