Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The City of Effingham would like to congratulate Joe Williamson on being awarded Employee of the Quarter as a part of the City’s Employee Recognition Program. The Employee of the Quarter Award recognizes an employee who demonstrated either distinguished or extraordinary service during the fiscal quarter or other accomplishments that typically go unnoticed but are worthy of recognition.
Joe Williamson exemplifies the values, standards and spirit of the City of Effingham each day. With 38 years of dedicated service at the Wastewater Treatment Plant – including more than 15 years as Chief Operator – Joe has built a legacy of excellence that is unmatched. His commitment to his role and to the citizens of Effingham is evident in everything he does.
Each day, Joe is responsible for the treatment and release of over 2.9 million gallons of wastewater, a critical function that safeguards the health of our community and protects the environment for generations to come. Keeping the Wastewater Treatment Plant operating at the highest level is no small feat, and Joe does it with consistency, expertise and dedication.
Joe’s excellence has not gone unnoticed beyond our community. He was recently nominated for Wastewater Operator of the Year in the State of Illinois – an extraordinarily distinguished honor in which only four individuals across the entire state are considered. Being among that select group is a testament to Joe’s outstanding skill, professionalism and the standard of care he brings to his work every single day.
Keeping the Wastewater Treatment Plant in top shape is exemplary, but being recognized as one of the best in the state is extraordinary. The City of Effingham congratulates Joe on this well-deserved recognition and is grateful for Joe’s unwavering commitment to public service and to the safety and well-being of our citizens and environment.
The City of Effingham appreciates your continued participation in our Employee Recognition Program. If you notice a City employee going above and beyond to serve you, please let us know by calling City Hall at 217-342-5300 or by emailing jkemper@effinghamil.com.
