Teutopolis Board of Education Meets Monday

Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Teutopolis Board of Education met on Monday, September 19th.

The following items were discussed and action taken at the meeting:

• The Budget Hearing was held to discuss the proposed 2022-23 school district budget.
• The Board recognized guests and public comments.  
• The August 2022 payment of bills was approved. 
• The Board approved the minutes from the August 15, 2022 Regular Board Meeting and  from the Sept 7, 2022 Special Board Meeting.  
• The Board approved the Administrator and Teacher Salary and Compensation Reports.
• The Board approved the FFA’s attendance at the National Convention on October 26-27.
• The Board approved an Advanced Basketball Skills Academy that Coach Reeder will hold.
• The Board approved two Early Graduation Requests for December 2022. 
• The Board approved the FY23 Financial Audit Proposal.  
• The Board approved the two-year review requirement of our Bullying Policy 7:180.
• The Board approved the 2021-22 Annual Audit Report as prepared by Glass & Shuffett.
• The Board approved the budget as presented for the 2022-23 fiscal year. 
• The Board approved the District Goals as presented and directed the Supt to lead administrative/management staff to identify and execute actionable steps and implement monitoring of progress toward established goals.
• Presentation of reports to the Board included:

 — building updates from Principles and Athletic Directors 

 — departmental reports from Buildings/Grounds, Transportation, and Technology

— 2023 Maintenance Grant – will be pursued for matching $50,000 used for future facility work at TGS 

 — updated 2022-23 enrollment figures 

 — 2023 Consolidated Election – materials available at Unit Office 

— district athletic facilities and programs – update on soccer/track bleacher delivery and installation timeline  

— Superintendent Reports 

• The Board accepted a resignation from Lisa Miller as 3-Hour TJHS Cook. 
• The Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the TEA regarding the  Egyptian Trust’s 13th payment for insurance premiums.
