FDA Intensifies Frozen Blueberry Recall

Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A frozen blueberry recall is now at the most severe risk level.

The FDA initiated the recall for the product sold at Publix supermarkets in early July. Publix reminds customers not to consume the blueberries, and instead discard or return to the store for a full refund.

Now the FDA is issuing a “Class 1” recall – a categorization that includes a reasonable probability that use of or exposure to the product will cause “serious adverse health consequences or death.”
