Sharon M. Mills, 79 of Mattoon, IL, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon IL 61938 is charge of arrangements.
Sharon was born on May 24, 1947, in Hillsboro, IL. She is survived by her children Jason D. Gordon and wife Kim of Effingham, IL, Staci M. Gordon and husband Damon Seibold of St. Louis, MO, Candy L. Gordon and fiancé Keith Tipton of Hindsboro, IL; five grandchildren Jason Gordon Jr. and wife Jamie of Dexter, NY, James Gordon and wife Brittany of Kansas City, MO, Justin Gordon of Carbondale, IL, Kaytlyn Gordon of Denver, CO, Brody Shook and fiancée Kinsey Romack of Mattoon, IL; four brothers; and her beloved cat, Pugsley.
She is preceded in death by her father John C. Maguire.
Sharon worked at General Electric in Mattoon, IL for many years before her retirement. She was an avid sports fanatic. She loved the Chicago Bulls, Da Bears, Chicago Cubs and the Fighting Illini.
She was affectionately known as “Grams”, “Old Coot”, and “Old Bird”. Sharon known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and making friends with anyone she met. Sharon was loved by many. Above all, she was a constant fixture in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She was a doting mother and grandmother with the biggest heart who loved her family dearly.
Sharon will be truly missed.
