
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Snow will continue across central and southeast IL early this afternoon, with periods of heavy snow lingering over portions of east central Illinois. Snow will gradually taper off from the west through the afternoon. North winds gusting 20 to 30 mph will create blowing and drifting in open areas.
Dangerously cold air (air temperature -6, wind chill as low as -20) will move back into the region tonight and Monday.
There are reports of multiple accidents, and roads are snow covered and slick no matter where you go. Please use caution if you go out today, and stay home if you can.
