Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Chamber welcomes Effingham Imagination Library as a new Chamber member.
Effingham Imagination Library is part of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program, a global literacy initiative dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by providing free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five. Through the program, enrolled children receive an age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home each month at no cost to families.
Serving families throughout Effingham County, the local affiliate works to increase early childhood literacy, encourage family reading time, and help children build foundational skills before entering school. Since launching internationally in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has distributed millions of books to children around the world with the mission of making books accessible to every child, regardless of income.
Effingham County families with children under the age of five are encouraged to register for the program online. Community members can also support the organization through donations, sponsorships, and volunteer efforts that help expand literacy opportunities across the area.
“The Effingham Imagination Library will make a meaningful impact on children ad families throughout our community by encouraging a lifelong love of reading. We’re honored to have them on our roster,” said Katie Koester, President & CEO of the Effingham County Chamber.
Families can register online at https://imaginationlibrary.com/usa/affiliate/ILEFFINGHAM/.
