Louisville, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Five individuals were injured in an accident that occurred in Louisville on Tuesday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at approximately 12:05 pm on US 45 at Steele Avenue.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 29-year-old, Tiberius Brooks, of Daleville, AL was traveling northbound, behind a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old female from Montrose.
Brooks failed to observe traffic slowing for a school zone and struck the rear of the vehicle driven by the woman from Montrose.
Brooks’ vehicle continued to travel north on US 45 until it could no longer function.
Brooks was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
His passenger, a 27-year-old female from Enterprise, AL was flown to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Two of the Montrose woman’s passengers, a 38-year-old female from Louisville and a 41-year-old female from Noble were taken to an area hospital by ambulance.
The Montrose woman was transported to an area hospital by family members.
Brooks was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving under the influence, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, illegal transportation of cannabis, and leaving the scene of a personal injury traffic crash.
