
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Transportation & Infrastructure Committee met on Tuesday morning and discussed a few different items.
The Jail roof replacement is set to begin on October 19th, and the new drop box has seen plenty of people utilizing it since it has been put up. E-Trax reports that they recently broke a one-hour record with 13 passengers in said time.
The rebuild round 32 grant update was mixed, with the cost study coming back higher than anticipated. IDOT said they are wanting lower a price. IDOT also said they may look elsewhere if the price does not come down significantly.
An update on the CIPT Service Contract stated that the contract with Clay County Rehabilitation expires on June 30, 2027, so the committee recommended to extend the contract.
PCOM provided updates, and CSS said the logged over 7K miles on their vehicles, and touted their open house on Tuesday for their new facility in Teutopolis.
