- Effingham Police arrested 54 year old William C. England of Mt. Vernon for a Fayette County FTA warrant for theft/deception >$500 <$10k, aggravated battery, false imprisonment of law enforcement, unlawful restraint, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. William was taken to the Effingham county jail.
- Effingham Police arrested 49 year old Sunshine C. Cole of Decatur for an Effingham county FTA warrant for theft/unauthorized control >10k <100k. Sunshine was taken to the Effingham County jail.
- Effingham Police arrested 37 year old Anthony B. Light of Mattoon for operating a vehicle without registration and driving while license suspended. Anthony was given an NTA.

- At 4:12 P.M. at the intersection of Maple and Franklin a vehicle driven by Vayda L. Gabel, 19, Watson, struck a vehicle driven by Norma J. Lansing, 68, Effingham. No injuries. Gabel was ticketed for Disobeying Traffic Control Device and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
January 18, 2021
- At 12:23 P.M. at 1305 N. Keller a vehicle driven by Jerry D. Brummett, 49, Effingham, struck a vehicle driven by Destiny L. Koester, 36, Wheeler. No injuries and no citations.
