Four were injured Sunday evening on Rt. 33, one half mile west of 300th Street in Liberty Township.
A vehicle driven by 25-year-old Phillip A. Kollinger, of Minooka, was traveling westbound on Route 33 when he signaled to turn left and began to slow. Another vehicle driven by 19-year-old Jarred A. Hicks, of Shelbyville, was also westbound behind Kollinger. Hicks failed to slow and struck the rear of Kollinger’s vehicle. Both vehicles traveled around 75 feet before coming to rest on the south side of the roadway.
Kollinger and two passengers, 19-year-old Morgan L. Kramer, of Farina, and a 17-year-old female, of Lakewood, were transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Hicks was also transported to St. Anthony’s for treatment and is charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid and accident.
