Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Teutopolis Board of Trustees held their regular meeting Wednesday, discussing a variety of topics.
The meeting started by approving the minutes of the last meeting, and then they moved on to a request for construction of a new light from the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus. The street light would be at the intersection of Vine and Garrett Street.
The Board then heard from a local resident about confusion over liquor licenses. Robert Campbell, who is seeking a liquor license to open up a restaurant that also serves liquor, stated he has tried to apply for a liquor license multiple times in the past and was told there were none left. The Board said he failed to clarify that he was looking for a Class B Liquor License, which is for restaurants, as opposed to a Class A Liquor License, which is for bars exclusively. They advised Robert to reapply with the clarification it is for a restaurant. The Board also warned that food sales at the restaurant must always exceed liquor sales. The liquor license could be lost if liquor sales exceed food sales.
The Board also approved an increase in money for employee benefits from $400 to $500.
The Board also:
- Discussed Plot Twist parking improvements
- Discussed the 2024 MFT Road Oiling Map (Lots of discussion about cost, will get estimates)
- Applied for IEPA Leverage Funds
