CROSS COUNTRY
EFFINGHAM VS. NEWTON
Effingham High School faced Newton in Cross Country Tuesday. Effingham Girls beat Newton 18-37. Effingham swept the first four spots with Fox finishing first with a time of 18:47. Rounding out the top five were Monnet from Effingham, Kull from Effingham, Schmidt from Effingham, and Uriarte from Newton. The Boys Cross Country team also took on Newton. Newton ended up getting the win 19-41. Newton’s Stone got the win with a time of 16:46 beating Effingham’s Donaldson by 6 seconds. Rounding out the top five were Koebele from Newton, Harris from Newton, and Sandschafer from Newton.
GIRLS TENNIS
EFFINGHAM VS. MATTOON
Effingham Girls Tennis Team faced Mattoon on Tuesday. Mattoon was able to get the win 9-0. Mattoon won all 6 singles matches in straight sets. Mattoon then took the three doubles games for the 9-0 win.
TEUTOPOLIS VS. FLORA
Teutopolis Girls Tennis fell to Flora 7-2. Teutopolis went 1-5 in the six singles matches and 1-2 in the three doubles matches. The loss drops Teutopolis to 0-1 on the season.
BOYS GOLF
ST. ANTHONY BOYS GOLF
St. Anthony Boys Golf were able to get the match win against Salem. St. Anthony had a total score of 164 while Salem had a 174. St. Anthony was led by Dust who had a 39.
ALTAMONT PLACES THIRD AT OAK TERRACE GOLF COURSE IN PANA
Altamont were able to place third at Oak Terrace Golf Course in Pana. Altamont finished with a team score of 195. Hillsboro were able to get the win with a 158 and Pana finised second with a 189. Altamont was led by Kopplin and Miller with 44 and 45. Altamont falls to 1-4 on the season.
GIRLS GOLF
ST. ANTHONY GIRLS GOLF
St. Anthony Girls Golf were able to get the match win against Salem. St. Anthony was led by McHugh who had a 44. St. Anthony had a team score of 191 while Salem had a team score of 221.
VOLLEYBALL
EFFINGHAM VS. ST. ANTHONY
Effingham was able to defeat St. Anthony in their fist Varsity game of the year. Effingham won game one 25-19 then took game two by a score of 25-19. The Hearts were able to get 3 Aces in the win. Effingham Junior Varsity were able to defeat St. Anthony after losing game one by a score of 25-19. Effingham were able to win game two 25-14 and won the final game 25-18. Both Varsity and Junior Varsity will face Newton on Thursday.
WINDSOR/STEW-STRAS VS. DIETERICH
Windsor Stew-Stras were able to defeat Dieterich in Volleyball action on Tuesday. The win now moves WSS to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in confrence play. WSS won game one by a score of 25-15, then took game two by a score of 25-11. Varisty will next play Thursday against Cumberland. Windsor Stew-Stras Junior Varsity team was able to get the win against Dieterich 25-23 and 25-14. The win makes the Junior Varsity team 2-0 on the season.
SOCCER
ALTAMONT BEECHER CITY VS. MATTOON
Altamont Beecher City Socer fell to Mattoon 9-0 on Tuesday. Mattoon scored 6 goals in the first half on their way to victory. The loss drops Altamont Beecher City to 4-1 on the season. Altamont Beecher City will face Newton on Thursday.
SOFTBALL
CHBC VS. RAMSEY
CHBC were able to jump out to an early lead and held on beating Ramsey 5-2 on Tuesday. CHBC scored 2 runs in the first and added three more in the third. Ramsey scored a run in the bottom of the third and fourth. Each team only had three hits. Cherry got the win for CHBC. CHBC is now 7-7 on the season.

Dan Hecht Dolphins vs. Effingham Express Care Chiefs
The Dolphins tried to come back but it wasn’t enough as the Chiefs got the win 29-14. The Chiefs scored a touchdown in the first on a 10 yard run. The Chiefs next scored in the second quarter with a 18 yard touchdown run and a two point conversion to take a 14-0 lead. The Chiefs came out in the third quarter with an interception and a 21 yard touchdown run and a two point conversion to make it 22-0. The Dolphins came back with a 20 yard touchdown run and a safety to make it 22-8. The Chiefs added another score in the fourth with a 5 yard touchdown pass. The Dolphins responded with a 42 yard touchdown run to make it 29-14.
Servpro Eagles vs. Hage Orthodontics Titans
The Eagles scored 13 points in the first quarter and never looked back beating the Titans 34-6. The Eagles scored on a 10 yard pass and a PAT to take a 7-0 lead. The Eagles then scored on a 18 yard pass to make it 13-0. The Eagles got another score in the second quarter with a 26 yard punt return for a touchdown to make it 21-0. The Eagles also scored on a 16 yard run and a two point conversion to make it 27-0 at the half. The Eagles scored on a 33 yard interception and a PAT to make it 34-0. The Titans got on the board in the fourth quarter on a 26 yard touchdown pass to make it 34-6.
