Two were arrested Thursday evening in Edgewood during a traffic stop. At approximately 4:45 p.m. Effingham County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a Dodge Truck in Edgewood for Failure to use a turn signal. The driver, 32-year-old Derek A. Britz of Edgewood, was found to be driving on a suspended license. Officers also discovered Drug Paraphernalia, Controlled Substances, and Methamphetamine.
Britz was cited for Possession of 5-15 grams of Methamphetamine, Methamphetamine Delivery, and Driving while suspended.
A passenger in the vehicle, 23-year-old Robert L. N. Adams of McDonald, Kansas, was arrested for Obstructing Justice.
Both men are in custody in the Effingham Count Jail. Effingham County Sheriff David Mahon stated that his Deputies will continue to work to combat the presence of Methamphetamine and other illegal drugs that harm the community.
