George was born on June 1, 1952 and raised in Teutopolis, Illinois, by his mother, Mardell Weis. He graduated from Teutopolis High School and often reminisced about the good old days, especially his time working at a gas station, pumping gas for a nickel. He loved sharing stories from years gone by, keeping those memories alive with every retelling.
George had a deep love for music, especially classic rock. In his younger days, you could find him at the Crystal Club, playing foosball, dancing, and enjoying a good time. He had a love for life’s simple pleasures, and a good song was always a reason to turn up the volume.
Later in life, George found a love that was worth waiting for at his ripe old age, when he married Vicki on July 12. Together, they built a family and welcomed two children into their lives, while also carrying the heartbreak of losing their firstborn son, Brandon Weis, who was stillborn. Brandon would always hold a special place in their family’s story.
George adored his children and treasured the years spent raising them, making memories, sharing laughs, and enjoying all the little moments that make a family. But life had one more special gift waiting for him: becoming a grandfather. The bond he shared with his grandson was something truly special. They became best friends, sharing a connection that brought George immense joy and gave him even more memories to cherish.
A proud Chicago Cubs fan, George enjoyed cheering on his team. He also loved playing horseshoes and bowling. His faith was an important part of his life, and he loved his religion and attending church.
If there was one thing that could make George happy, it was a country cruise with the windows down and the music turned up. That was his kind of medicine. A good song, an open road, and the freedom to enjoy the moment were some of life’s greatest pleasures to him.
George will be remembered for his faith, his love of music, his stories about the old days, and above all, the love he had for his family. From his younger days dancing at the Crystal Club to the precious moments spent with his grandson, George lived a life filled with memories, music, and love.
He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish the time they had with him, the stories he told, and the memories that will continue to bring smiles through the tears. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
George is survived by his wife, Vicki Weis; children, John Weis and Rachel Weis; and grandchildren, Nikko Weis.
