Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Gautam Jha, MD, a board-certified internal medicine physician, will open his new primary care practice on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 1901 S. 4th Street, Suite 30, in Effingham.
Dr. Jha has cared for patients in southern Illinois for many years, including his former practice in Salem and hospital work at Salem Township Hospital and SSM Health. His new Effingham office is now accepting new patients ages 12 and older.
“I want Effingham families to have a doctor who knows them, has time for them, and can see them quickly,” said Dr. Jha. “Good primary care keeps people healthy and out of the hospital.”
Services include annual wellness visits and physicals; care for diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and lung conditions; senior care and medication reviews; women’s health including Pap smears; weight loss; and second opinions. The office offers in-office EKGs, fingerstick glucose and A1c testing, rapid flu, strep and COVID tests, injections and seasonal flu shots. Telehealth visits are also available.
The practice accepts Medicare and Medicaid and is in-network with HealthLink, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
