Tom was born August 27, 1961, in Paris, the son of Marion and Norma (Flairty) Huston. He married Karen Fuesting on July 21, 1984, and together they were blessed with a son, Andrew. Following Karen’s passing in 1988, Tom found love again and married Janet Deters on April 25, 1992. Together, they built a life filled with countless memories.
Tom was a dedicated truck driver and most recently drove for SS CHaD Trucking. While he spent many miles behind the wheel, some of his favorite moments came after the workday was done. Friday afternoons at the Effingham Event Center, with Will and all the bartenders, was something he looked forward to each week. Tom also enjoyed brewery hopping with Janet, making memories together as they visited new places.
A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Tom could often be found cheering on his favorite team. He also enjoyed spending time with the Boy Scout Troop 137 Pinochle and Golf Group. Above all, Tom treasured his family and the time he spent with them.
Tom is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Andrew T. (Stacey) Huston, Zachary L. (Kara) Huston, Elizabeth M. (Connor) Hower, and Stephanie (Andy Isley) Huston; grandchildren, Aubrey, Carter, and Boden Huston, June and Tripp Huston, and a baby Hower due to arrive in January; brothers, John (Nancy) Huston and David (Karen) Huston; in-laws, Art and Betty Deters, Dennis and Penny Deters, Carl and Alice Deters, Gary and Carla Deters, Angie and Carl Probst, Amy and Ron Lohman, Diana and Don Brown, Steve Fuesting, Diane and David Krampe, Ralph and Teresa Fuesting, Dale and Paula Fuesting, and Lester and Maggie Fuesting; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
