Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On August 19th, 2026, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant on 29-year–old Johnny A. Soto II, of Teutopolis, for multiple felony counts of production of Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM).
The arrest warrant was issued earlier on August 19th, in Effingham County Circuit Court, for the following:
- 7 Counts of Child Sexual Abuse Materials (720 ILCS 5/11-20.1C), all class 1 felonies
- 3 Counts of Child Sexual Abuse Materials (720 ILCS 5/11-20.1A), all class X felonies
The arrest warrant stems from an investigation conducted by Detectives at the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, which began earlier this year.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Effingham Police Department, the Teutopolis Police Department, the Illinois State Police and the Effingham County State’s Attorney’s Office.
After Soto’s pretrial detention hearing on August 21st, he was ordered to be detained at the Effingham County Jail.
The investigation into this matter remains ongoing at this time.
All suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
