Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Hot and humid temperatures persist, but we have a chance for severe weather that may bring the temperature down some.
Outside of storms, hot and humid conditions will be in place with heat indices generally ranging from 95-105°. A thunderstorm complex is forecast to work through portions of central IL from mid morning through this afternoon. Damaging winds will be the primary hazard, with secondary hazards of large hail and a few tornadoes. Stay weather aware today and know where to shelter during severe storms.
Unsettled weather is likely to continue through the weekend.
