Plainfield, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation announce that additional charges of First-Degree Murder (Class M Felony) have been filed against the two suspects previously charged in connection to the dismembered body of 38-year-old Dalewayne Turner of Plainfield, IL after his arm was found by a boater in Lake Mattoon on June 28, 2026.
After the initial discovery in Lake Mattoon, further searches of the lake and a residence in Plainfield revealed additional evidence. On July 2, 2026, the suspects, 26-year-old James Adams and 62-year-old Robin Turner, were both initially charged with Concealment of a Homicide (Class 3 Felony) and Dismembering a Human Body (Class X Felony).
ISP conducted an extensive and thorough investigation and on July 29, 2026, the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office approved an additional three counts of First-Degree Murder for both Adams and Turner.
Adams and Turner remain in custody. There is no additional information.
