Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Storms are possible tonight, and it looks to be a wet weekend.
Periods of showers and thunderstorms can be expected across central and southeast IL today, with the strongest storms this afternoon into evening. These storms will be capable of producing isolated damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, locally heavy downpours exceeding 2 inches, and possibly a tornado or two, mainly west of Springfield.
A slow moving low pressure system will move into central IL today, with periods of showers and thunderstorms lingering into Sunday.
Temperatures will be slightly below normal, with highs from the mid 70s to lower 80s through Monday, and lower to mid 80s Tuesday.
