Jackson County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- One person is hurt after an Amtrak train hit a semi in southern Illinois.
Authorities say the incident happened yesterday on Highway 51, south of DeSoto. Investigators learned that the semi was crossing railroad tracks when the front of the truck was hit by the train traveling from Chicago to Carbondale.
The truck driver was sent to the hospital with serious injuries.
