
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Board held their regular meeting on Monday.
The Board voted to approve resurfacing for parts of Moccasin Road, with the bid coming in well below the projected $2.4M cost. The part of the road in question, Moccasin Road by the 4-way stop at Lake Sara Road, will be done for just over $1.7M.
The Board approved a contract with DEV NET for use by the County Clerk, County Treasurer and County Supervisor of Assessments offices, and approved an agreement with the City of Altamont for GIS data. The County waived the fee for Altamont, same as the city of Effingham.
A few appointments were also approved:
- Tony Siemer – Airport Commission
- Janelle Eck – Housing Authority
- Todd Hull – Southeastern Illinois Economic Development Authority
Board members also voted to allow use of the Courthouse Courtyard for the EffingHAM-JAM on July 21 and FACE Orchestra concerts on July 13 and August 10. They also approved disbursements of:
- $1,000 for the Effingham Noon Rotary 4th of July fireworks display
- $1,000 for Edgewood Fest
- $1,500 for the Dieterich 4th of July fireworks display
- $5,000 for the Effingham County Fair
County Clerk Michelle Kollmann also reported near the end of the meeting that digitization work has been completed in her office and that new voter ID cards will be distributed this summer for all Effingham County voters.
