Two area residents, one from Effingham and one from Beecher City, were arrested Saturday on multiple charges related to drug possession and intent to deliver. 23-year-old Maxwell Myers of Effingham is facing possession charges for both heroin and methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver, and possession of paraphernalia, including a hypodermic needle. Myers has also been charged with possession of burglary tools.
21-year-old Beecher City resident Dakota Hopper was also arrested, and is facing identical heroin and meth charges as Myers, as well as the charge of possession of burglary tools. Hopper was also charged with possession of materials with intent to manufacture methamphetamine.
The arrests were made by the Illinois State Police. Both Myers and Hopper are being held in the Effingham County Jail.
