Charleston, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The following was released by the Charleston Police Department on their Facebook Page:
Offender: Allen R Roberts III Incident Date: March 7th, 2023
On March 8th, the Charleston Police Department responded to Wal-Mart for a report of a retail theft. It was reported a male suspect concealed approximately $700 worth of merchandise on his person, and walked out of the store without paying for the items. During the investigation, officers were able to identify Roberts as a suspect.
Roberts was later arrested on March 23rd for a Probation Violation Warrant. Due to previous multiple convictions for theft within the past 4 months, Roberts was charged with Felony Retail Theft, and placed in the Coles County Jail where his bond was later set at $0.
All subjects arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
