- Effingham City Police arrested 47 year old Paul A. Beville of Wheeler for 2 counts of residential burglary, unlawful possession of a motor vehicle, and unlawful possession of stolen property. Paul was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
- Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 51 year old Tonya A. Kinder of Centralia for an Effingham County FTA warrant for possession of <5g of meth. Tonya was given an NTA.
- Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 43 year old Aaron C. Anthony of Clay City for an Effingham County FTA warrant for DUI alcohol. Aaron was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
- Effingham City Police arrested 20 year old Morgan S. Wilkin of Effingham for retail theft >$500. Morgan was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
- Effingham City Police arrested 20 year old Zildjian M. Greenwood of Effingham for retail theft >$500. Zildjian was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
- Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 20 year old Andrew M. Wilkins of Watson for driving while license revoked. Andrew was given an NTA.
- Effingham City Police arrested 20 year old Derrick Deon Batiste of Franklin, LA for obstructing justice. Derrick was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
- Effingham City Police arrested 20 year old Kentrell Jhonell Pharagood of Patterson, LA for obstructing justice. Kentrell was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
- Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 25 year old Jeremy I. Restivo of Freeman Spur, IL for an Effingham County original warrant for 2 counts of unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle. Jeremy was taken to the Effingham County Jail.

- Effingham City Police arrested 32 year old Scott J. Clark of Effingham for an IDOC warrant. Scott was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
- Altamont Police Department arrested 37 year old Laura J. Nall of St. Elmo for an Effingham County FTA warrant for DUI alcohol/drugs. Laura posted $325 and was released.
- Effingham City Police arrested 40 year old Eric W. Deain of Olney for a Richland County FTA warrant for home invasion w/ injury. Eric was taken to the Effingham County Jail.

- Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 33 year old Colt A. Stephens of Farina for a Shelby County FTA/FTP warrant for driving while license suspended. Colt posted bond and was released.
- Altamont Police arrested 40 year old Kyle. E. Julius of Vandalia for an Effingham County attachment for contempt. Kyle posted bond and was released.
CRASHES
August 16, 2022
- At 11:32 A.M. at the intersection of Banker and Eiche a trailer being pulled by a vehicle driven by Jason L. Slifer, 20, Effingham, drove into the path of and was struck by a vehicle driven by Jane M. Hotze, 87, Effingham. Hotze sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. No citations.
- At 2:21 P.M. at the intersection of Raney and Fayette a semi driven by Devon A. Clough, 32, Kirbyville, MO, struck a semi driven by Larry W. Gouchenouer, 72, Louisville. The impact caused Gouchenouer’s semi to leave the roadway and damage a yard owned by Effingham Event Center. No injuries. Clough was ticketed for Disobeying Traffic Control Device.

- At 11:18 A.M. at the intersection of Fayette and Maple a vehicle driven by Denise C. Stokes, 67, Brownstown, struck a vehicle driven by Janet W. Shepard, 65, Altamont. A passenger in Shepard’s vehicle, Jerald R. Shepard, 71, Altamont, sustained injuries but refused treatment. Stokes was ticketed for Disobeying Traffic Control Device.

- At 7:42 A.M. at the intersection of Banker and Douglas a vehicle driven by Rachel M. Lanham, 24, Palestine, drove into the path of and was struck by a vehicle driven by Malinda C. Reardon, 42, Effingham. No injuries and no citations.
- At 4:40 P.M. at the intersection of Althoff and Network Centre Drive a vehicle driven by Daniel B. Guenther, 28, Effingham, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Blake M. Lynch, 39, Teutopolis. No injuries and no citations.
