Effingham County Jail

• Effingham Police Department arrested a 15-year-old Female Juvenile of Effingham. The juvenile was charges with aggravated assault, unlawful use of a weapon and criminal property damage under $300. The juvenile was transported to Franklin County.
• Effingham Police Department arrested 38-year-old Jenilee Arnold of Bathalto. Arnold was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and a Jersey County warrant for contempt of court. Arnold is still in custody.
• Effingham Police Department arrested 28-year-old Matthew J Horne of Effingham. Horne was arrested on an Effingham County warrant for possession of meth less than five grams and a Richland County Failure to Appear warrant for DUI/Alcohol. Horne was given a notice to appear by both counties and released.
• Illinois State Police arrested 26-year-old Shabib F Alzuabi. Alzuabi was arrested on charges of DUI/Alcohol, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to signal when required, and driving with a suspended license. Alzuabi was given a notice to appear and released.

• At 6:54 P.M. north of the intersection of Keller and Ford a vehicle driven by  Shelby L. Jones, 24, Effingham, struck a deer. No injuries and no citations. 

November 5, 2021 

• At 11:56 A.M. at 112 W. Washington a vehicle driven by Lou A. Brunken, 57,  Shelbyville, sideswiped a vehicle driven by Jennifer R. Hecht, 38, Effingham.  No injuries and no citations.
