Effingham County Jail

• Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 30-year-old Heather D. Thomas of Decatur. Thomas was arrested on a Effingham County failure to appear warrant for possession of meth under 5 grams. Thomas is still in custody.
• Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 41-year-old Scott P. Zadek of Newton. Zadek was arrested on a Effingham County failure to appear warrant for aggravated battery. Zadek is still is custody.
• Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 20-year-old Kage A. Bolyard of Brownstown, Illinois. Bolyard was sentenced to five years for Criminal Sexual Abuse of a victim under 13-years-of-age. Bolyard is in custody
• Effingham Police Department arrested 39-year old Robin Fae Schroeder of Hobart. Indiana. Schroeder was arrested on charges of DUI/Alcohol. Schroeder was given a notice to appear and released.

CRASHES 

July 8, 2021 

• At 12:28 P.M. at the intersection of Banker and Clark a vehicle driven by  Rachel L. Thomas, 26, Altamont, collided with a vehicle driven by Dakota D.  Craig, 22, Effingham. A passenger in Thomas’ vehicle, Michael L. Kelly, 51,  Waukegan, sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to HSHS St.  Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. No citations. 
• At 1:00 P.M. north of the intersection of Banker and Airport Road a vehicle  driven by Jacqueline E. Genaust, 65, Effingham, pulled into the path of and  was struck by a vehicle driven by Holly K. Bloemker, 20, Effingham. No  injuries and no citations.
