Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Mattoon Police arrested Tyree D. Neal, 24 years of age of Saint Cloud, MN, for the offenses of Home Invasion and Burglary.
The arrest occurred on 3/28/21 at 12:33pm in the 600 block of East Rudy in Mattoon. The charges allege that on 3/28/21 at approximately 4am, Mr. Neal unlawfully entered a residence in the 2500 block of Prairie Ave in Mattoon, where he confronted a female resident of the home, and held her against her will. Mr. Neal then began stealing items from the residence, including firearms, and shoved the resident down a flight of stairs prior to his departure. The female victim sustain non life threatening injuries from the attack. During the investigation it was discovered that a garage of a separate residence had been burglarized. The owner of that residence reported he noticed his gate standing open, and upon investigating the matter, discovered someone had been inside his detached garage, and removed items.
